About The Position

We have a customer in San Diego CA who has an IMMEDIATE long-term DIRECT HIRE opening for an entry level (ideally 0-3 years experience) Mechanical Engineer. In this role you will assist in the design and development of precision mechanical components and assemblies use in fuel system control systems used for large industrial and natural gas engines and turbines. In addition you will be creating and revising 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using SOLIDWORKS and support prototype development, testing, validation of products and work closely with Electrical Engineers, Machinists, Manufacturing personnel to bring new products from concept to production. Other duties include product improvement, cost reduction projects, engineering documentation, BOMs, assembly instructions, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of field and manufacturing issues. This is a DIRECT HIRE position in San Diego, CA and must be worked on site.

Requirements

  • BSME degree.
  • 0-3 years of engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with machining, sheet metal, and precision mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience with prototyping and testing.
  • Knowledge of GD&T is a plus.
  • Interest in industrial control systems, engines, or gas turbine applications is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of precision mechanical components and assemblies used in fuel system control systems for large industrial and natural gas engines and turbines.
  • Create and revise 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using SOLIDWORKS.
  • Support prototype development, testing, and validation of products.
  • Work closely with Electrical Engineers, Machinists, and Manufacturing personnel to bring new products from concept to production.
  • Engage in product improvement and cost reduction projects.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs and assembly instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis of field and manufacturing issues.
