You will collaborate with external partners, execute validation builds, and perform critical engineering analyses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or optomechanical systems, experience with consumer electronics design, and proficiency in 3D CAD tools. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement and manufacturing scalability for production readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optomechanics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Solid background in mechanical or optomechanical systems, including hands-on experience with high-precision alignment processes for optical imaging, sensing, or display assemblies.
  • Experience designing and developing consumer electronics or high-volume products.
  • 3+ years of experience using 3D CAD tools (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent) to work on complex assemblies within a controlled document management environment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with international vendors, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to image processing fundamentals and optical system characterization.
  • Experience with metrology tools, gauge R&R, and statistical process control.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on root-cause analysis and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead rapid prototyping initiatives, delivering multiple design iterations within aggressive timelines.
  • Drive end-to-end development of system assembly processes, including concept selection, prototyping approaches, and tooling/equipment definition for high-precision assembly.
  • Partner with external equipment suppliers, contract manufacturers, and integrators to support process development and deployment.
  • Execute and support proof-of-concept builds, process validation, and engineering trials.
  • Perform and contribute to engineering analyses including FMEA, tolerance stack analysis, failure investigations, and GD&T definition.
  • Develop and refine assembly strategies to meet mechanical, optical, and reliability requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and scalability for production readiness.
