About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for responding to issues on the shop floor, collaborating with design teams to resolve design issues, and participating in various review meetings. This role requires close interaction with assembly areas to communicate and resolve engineering issues created during manufacturing and fabrication processes. The position involves updating machine-level prints and bills of material, supporting new product introductions, and occasionally performing pre-delivery audits.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • AS or BS in a manufacturing or engineering discipline.
  • Machine assembly/processing experience.
  • Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Good knowledge of basic software (Word, Excel, PowerBI and PowerPoint).
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

  • Previous experience with machine design/process design.
  • Previous Engineering coordination activity experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responding to issues on the shop floor.
  • Addressing Assembly Quality Events (AQE) assigned to engineering.
  • Responding to questions and issues from shop floor personnel (section managers, auditors, assemblers, manufacturing, quality, and supplier quality engineers).
  • Communicating and collaborating with design teams to resolve design issues.
  • Participating in weekly AQE, BIQ, and warranty review meetings.
  • Communicating engineering issues created during manufacturing/fabrication/assembly processes to the responsible Engineering Team.
  • Updating machine-level prints (paint and lube, General arrangement prints, Test instructions, etc.) and bill of material (BOM).
  • Supporting prototype and pilot machine builds as part of a New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Creating and obtaining authorization for deviations to resolve design issues.
  • Performing pre-delivery audits (PDA) of finished assemblies, including marking issues, working with operators to fix issues, performing static torque checks, and documenting findings.
  • Supporting Built In Quality (BIQ) issues and projects, and Continuous Improvement (CI) cards.
