About The Position

Dewberry is seeking an accomplished Mechanical Engineer/PE to join their Jackson, MS team. This role involves providing technical guidance and mentorship, leading the design of mechanical systems for healthcare projects, and ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency. With over 4 years of experience, the engineer will assist Project and Client Managers, align projects with client needs and budgets across various sectors (private, public, federal), and collaborate with other disciplines to deliver innovative solutions. Requirements

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within six (6) months.
• 4+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of mechanical systems specifically for healthcare projects.
• Proven track record of technical oversight on multiple projects, ensuring contract specifications and technical standards are met on time and within budget.
• Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Well organized, takes good notes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving mechanical engineering.
• Provide technical training and development of staff.
• Establish and improve standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for the mechanical discipline.
• Act as Engineer of Record.
• Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions, including technical and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with all involved disciplines, including outside consultants.
• Serve as the technical interface with code officials and contractors.
