As a Mechanical Engineer, you will complete mechanical design work for mobile equipment that includes structural, fluid power, and powertrain systems, including performing component selection; CAD design work; analysis, including FEA; detailed bills of material (BOMs); and Operator and User Manuals. You will collaborate with other SpecSys engineering disciplines and manufacturing along with project managers to ensure the On Time - On Budget - Done Right - Done Safely aspects of the project assigned. What does a Senior Mechanical Engineer do at SpecSys? Overall project responsibility including: Verify the design meets performance and configuration specifications Contract management to verify the project is completed on time and on budget Customer management to understand expectations and standards Providing work instructions for designers and drafters Coordinating resources of project teams Developing and updating project timelines Developing design concepts to perform project function and facilitate reviews. Developing scope of work projections Performing engineering calculations to verify compliance with design requirements Providing technical data to the client, designers, and drafters Overseeing and/or performing FEA analysis to verify structural integrity Direct preparation of FEA reports for the customer Preparing project review booklets and present to the customer Specifying and sourcing purchase components to be used Specifying materials to be used in design Working on multiple CAD packages Reviewing CAD models for completeness, interferences, and manufacturability Reviewing detail drawings for completeness, accuracy, and client standards Reviewing and update model and drawing tolerances Generating and reviewing Bill of Materials for completeness Updating and tracking action / issue items

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Engineering degree in mechanical or other applicable engineering disciplines (industrial machinery / equipment, transportation / mobility, automotive, agriculture, aerospace, etc.)
  • 1+ years of proven and relevant professional experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Well organized
  • Able to interact at a management level with Manufacturing Operations, Sales, Clients, and Quality
  • Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance

Responsibilities

  • Provide work instructions for designers and drafters
