About The Position

Provide engineering support including planning, designing, overseeing fabrication, and fielding special fixtures and machinery for the testing of military weapon systems and equipment. The role involves incorporating state-of-the-art technology, adhering to established design standards, utilizing existing or developing new testing procedures, and instrumentation systems. The incumbent may be assigned independent project responsibility or serve as a project engineer on major, complex systems within high visibility, high cost programs. Depending on experience, the role may involve leading a team of engineers and technicians on efforts involving transducers, calibrations, and new instrumentation systems. The position exercises technical direction over engineering, technical test support, and other supporting personnel during the conduct of tests in the field or under simulated conditions, including making assignments, reviewing work, and providing instructions. The role may also involve developing process improvements, including identifying, designing, developing, and implementing modifications/upgrades of existing facilities, equipment, and their operating systems. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college/university, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience using SolidWorks or other 3D CAD program.
  • Effective communication in English, both verbally and in writing, on a professional level.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
  • Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the section SOPs.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
  • Must be able to work in a team setting, maintaining a professional relationship with all team members, as well as other coworkers, in and outside of your immediate work area.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.
  • Must be able speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Must have a well-mannered customer service attitude.
  • Must be willing to cross-train in other areas.
  • Must use “down-time” effectively to the benefit of test, self, and company.
  • Must be punctual, responsible, and dependable.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
