About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for producing highly detailed, fully coordinated construction drawings and performing complex mechanical engineering calculations across HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. This role integrates into a highly technical, fast‑paced engineering team and contributes to the successful delivery of mission‑critical projects. The Mechanical Engineer must demonstrate strong analytical capability, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to technical excellence while coordinating with internal and external project partners.

Requirements

  • Applicable Autodesk Revit experience required
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with design and analysis tools such as Bluebeam, Trace 3D Plus, Pipe‑Flo, and Hands Down Psychrometrics
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills with consistent on‑time project delivery
  • Proven success working with all levels of management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to function well in a high‑paced and occasionally stressful environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field required
  • 3–7 years of mechanical design experience, preferably within an MEP consulting environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CFD software (FloEFD, TileFlow, 6Sigma, Star CCM, or similar) preferred
  • Experience designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in highly technical market sectors such as data centers, healthcare, laboratory, pharmaceutical, or industrial environments preferred
  • E.I.T. certification preferred but not required
  • PE certification or active pursuit of licensure is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Designs HVAC systems for highly technical environments
  • Designs plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary, vent, and specialty piping
  • Supports performance‑based fire protection and controls design
  • Performs code analysis and ensures compliance with applicable standards
  • Conducts psychrometric analysis and reviews system selections and sizing criteria
  • Performs engineering studies including, but not limited to: Cooling/heating load calculations, Ventilation calculations, Air balance summaries, CFD modeling, Duct static calculations, Pump head calculations, Load curtailment strategies, Co‑simulation
  • Produces highly detailed construction drawings coordinated across all disciplines
  • Coordinates with internal and external team members to ensure project success
  • Communicates project goals, challenges, and schedules to project teams and business partners
  • Participates in daily or weekly training and continuous learning initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned
