About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design, develop, and validate the mechanical components and assemblies that make up Vale’s automated matcha hardware platform. This role involves designing mechanical components and assemblies for Vale’s automated hardware systems, creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools, and conducting tolerance analysis, FEA, and design for manufacture (DFM) analysis. You will also build and test prototypes to validate design intent and performance, collaborate with Electrical, Firmware, and Controls engineers during integration, and manage design changes, BOMs, and documentation in PLM systems. Additionally, you will work closely with contract manufacturers to ensure design intent is maintained in production.

Requirements

Legally authorized to work in the United States
4+ years of mechanical engineering experience in product development or hardware design
Proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent 3D CAD tool
Experience with DFM, GD&T, and manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, injection molding)
Hands-on prototyping experience with 3D printing and machine shop tools

Nice To Haves

Experience in a food-grade or medical device environment a plus
