About The Position

USEMCO is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill our Mechanical Engineering role in our Engineering Department. As a Mechanical Engineer at USEMCO you would provide structural design services and hydraulic and thermo product engineering support services. ABOUT USEMCO Since 1963 USEMCO has been an acknowledged leader in the custom design and fabrication of package pump stations for wastewater and clean water and control systems as well as specialty manufacturing of tanks used for water, chemical and petroleum products. Electrical control systems and panels range from simplex constant speed motor applications to variable frequency drive panels and motor control centers. Requirements

  • Requires education generally equivalent to a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or some other relevant major from a 4-year college or university and 2 to 3 years related experience in engineering and product design techniques.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, vendors, contractors, consulting engineers, and customers relating to product design issues.
  • Apply engineering concepts (structural, mechanical, and hydraulic) and perform engineering calculations relating to product design.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions and data furnished in written and oral form.

Responsibilities

  • Provide documentation of structural designs for review by consulting engineers.
  • Establish and maintain familiarity with the function of a wide variety of company products, such as stations, tanks, hatches, dump boxes, and miscellaneous fabricated products.
  • Establish and maintain familiarity with State of Wisconsin, Underwriter’s Laboratory, ETL and various states’ building regulations regarding modular buildings.
  • Establish and maintain familiarity with elevator regulations.
  • Communicate with customers, sales representatives, contractors, consulting engineers, and vendors concerning product design issues at each stage of the product development process.
  • Communicate with the manufacturing function, answering questions and providing technical advice while products are being built.
  • Provide submittal materials for customer review and approval.
  • Create product design drawings and Bills of Materials to guide the manufacturing department in producing company products.
  • Employ the ERP computer system to establish Bills of Materials, requiring extensive knowledge of this manufacturing software.
  • Employ the AutoCAD CAD computer system to create drawings and designs.
  • Employ the company drawing storage and retrieval system to manipulate and store drawings.
