Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Experience with high-temperature molten salt vessels and/or furnace design.
Experience in custom equipment design and fabrication.
Knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Successful drug screening.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting Department of Energy (DOE), nuclear, national laboratory, or other highly regulated environments.
Experience designing equipment for high-temperature process, thermal, or metallurgical applications.
Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance, if required.

Responsibilities

Design and develop high-temperature molten salt vessels, furnaces, and other custom mechanical equipment.
Create mechanical designs, engineering calculations, fabrication drawings, and technical documentation.
Support equipment fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop innovative mechanical solutions for complex process systems.
Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards, DOE requirements, and industry codes.
Support engineering reviews, troubleshooting, design improvements, and continuous process optimization.
