Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • 3–8 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, preferably in energy, utilities, or industrial sectors
  • Proficiency in mechanical design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit); familiarity with CAESAR II or similar analysis tools is a plus
  • Working knowledge of ASME, API, and other industry standards
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel to project sites for field support, if needed

Nice To Haves

  • PE license or EIT certification
  • Experience supporting capital projects, plant upgrades, or EPC scopes
  • Field experience with equipment installation, troubleshooting, or commissioning
  • Familiarity with QA/QC processes, welding standards, or pressure testing
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) may be useful on certain projects

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review mechanical designs, layouts, and specifications for systems such as piping, HVAC, or equipment installations
  • Perform calculations, load analysis, and system sizing
  • Review technical drawings, P&IDs, data sheets, and vendor documentation
  • Assist in equipment selection, material take-offs, and procurement support
  • Support field construction and commissioning teams with installation guidance, technical clarifications, and punch list resolution
  • Ensure all mechanical systems are designed in compliance with codes, industry standards, and client requirements
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and site personnel
  • Maintain project documentation and participate in design reviews and project meetings
