Mechanical Engineer Summer Intern
About The Position
Advantest America, a leading Semiconductor Test and Measurement Company, is seeking self-driven and creative R & D Engineers who are interested in the field of Mechanical Engineering. The job entails designing, developing, and testing hardware to enhance the 93000 SOC platform. The Advantest 93K group designs and produces state of the art instrumentation for world’s leading memory semiconductor manufacturers. You will participate in all aspects of product design from concept to production release, including feature definition, design implementation, verification, and qualification for ATE equipment used by advanced electronic manufacturers. This position is located at our headquarters in San Jose, CA.
Requirements
- Expertise in mechanical engineering tools and methods
- Strong understanding of: CAD and 3D modeling
- Strong understanding of: Mathematics
- Strong understanding of: Physics
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Analytical approach to Problem Solving
- Progress towards a MS or BS in Mechanical Engineering or Physics
Nice To Haves
- ATE knowledge and familiarity with low level hardware interfaces are an added plus but not a core job requirement.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and test mechanical components from high-level requirements.
- Learn and follow Advantest’s policies and procedures for high quality mechanical designs.
- Creating and validating 3D models
- Generating detailed dimensioned PDF drawings
- Building prototype components through local suppliers
