About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 to support various torpedo test equipment modernization and development efforts. This internship provides an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and gain hands-on experience in the field. This position will be located on site at our Middletown, RI office. This is a paid internship opportunity.

Requirements

• Utilization of CAD software to develop 3D models and 2D drawings for complex electromechanical parts and assemblies.
• Perform different engineering analyses on the overall design which can include FEA, tolerance stack-up, reliability, design for manufacturing, and design for assembly.

Responsibilities

• Contribute individually and/or as a team member to support our customer’s unique mission needs
• Work with key stakeholders to accomplish goals and objectives to support SAIC’s project/program portfolio
• Build awareness and experience of key capability skills in support of SAIC business efforts
• Conduct data and process analysis to support development of key solutions
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions in these technical fields
