This exciting role is supporting Space Security & Intelligence with Space Protection Programs. As a structural design engineer on P277, you will: Support hardware design through key milestone design reviews into production Manage and execute a subset of an integrated master schedule (IMS) Act as technical POC on mechanical subassemblies feeding into a larger assembly including reporting on issues, and resolution of technical problems. Interact across various integrated product teams to develop unique solutions to complex problems. As a structural design engineer on SPP, you will: Support hardware design, procurement, and production support (including assembly and test) Manage and execute a subset of an integrated master schedule (IMS) Act as technical POC on mechanical subassemblies feeding into a larger assembly including reporting on issues, and resolution of technical problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related technical field) or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Strong understanding of structural design including bolted joint evaluation, tolerance analyses, and properties of materials, with an emphasis on metallics
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cross collaboration amongst multiple people/teams
  • US Citizenship and active Final Top secret security clearance with a willingness to obtain a TS/SCI with Poly security clearance
  • Strong experience with CREO Parametric software or equivalent CAD software
  • Strong experience utilizing EPDM, such as Windchill, or equivalent
  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience in structural design
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance in accordance with ASME Y14.5, including detailed tolerance analyses for machined details
  • Self motivated with an active interest to learn from and engage with the team
  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills
  • Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
  • Prior experience developing and providing solutions to structural design issues of unusual complexity under consultative direction towards long range goals.
  • Expertise with CREO Parametric software or equivalent CAD software
  • Expertise experience utilizing EPDM, such as Windchill, or equivalent
  • US Citizenship and active Final Top secret security clearance required prior to start and willingness to obtain a TS/SCI with Poly security clearance
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience in structural design
  • Excellent experience Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance in accordance with ASME Y14.5, including detailed tolerance analyses for machined details
  • Prior experience as a team lead
  • Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
