About The Position

As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will own the end-to-end design of complex mechanical components, translating multidisciplinary requirements into detailed 3D models and production-ready drawings. You will work alongside peers, configuration management, and manufacturing to ensure programs remain on schedule and within budget. This role involves developing mechanical designs of varying complexity using solid modeling tools (PTC Creo), producing accurate engineering work products, and integrating requirements from various disciplines such as stress, dynamics, systems, thermal, and manufacturing. You will apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to meet program needs, collaborate with configuration management and manufacturing to validate designs and resolve issues, and deliver error-free, cost-effective, and producible engineering designs. Effective communication of technical concepts to diverse stakeholders, both orally and in writing, is essential. Travel to customer sites, supplier facilities, or test locations may be required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field and 5-7 years experience.
  • Mechanical design, system, and/or manufacturing experience that includes the use of interpretation of engineering design drawings.
  • Mechanical design experience performing conceptual and detailed CAD modeling in PTC CREO, creation of 2D production type drawings, drawing revisions, releases and engineering change notices using Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM).
  • Fundamental understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and of ASME Y14.5.
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis.
  • Experience with one or more engineering CAD tools (PTC Creo, NX, Solid Works, I-DEAS, etc.) and model based product definition.
  • Good oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a DoD secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with one or more engineering CAD tools (PTC Creo, NX, Solid Works, I-DEAS, etc.) and model based product definition.
  • Knowledge of industry and military standards and specifications.
  • Knowledge/experience with mechanical analysis (thermal and/or structural) including FEA and CFD.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Developing mechanical designs of varying complexity using solid modeling tools (PTC Creo) and producing accurate engineering work products.
  • Reviewing and integrating requirements from stress, dynamics, systems, thermal, manufacturing, and other disciplines into your designs.
  • Applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure fit, form, and function meet program needs.
  • Collaborating with configuration management and manufacturing to validate designs and resolve issues quickly.
  • Delivering error free, cost effective, and producible engineering designs that enable program milestones.
  • Communicating technical concepts clearly—both orally and in writing—to diverse stakeholders.
  • Supporting travel to customer sites, supplier facilities, or test locations as needed.
