The University of Texas at Austin is seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineer/Mechanical Graduate Engineer to serve within Utilities and Energy Management (UEM). UEM provides dependable and efficient electricity with 99.99% reliability, chilled water, steam, deionized water, and compressed air to UT Austin, as well as distribution and collection piping for natural gas, water, reclaimed water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. This role is critical in providing the utilities and energy needed to transform UT Austin campuses and advance UT's education, research, and public service missions. The position assumes responsibility for supporting all UEM working groups in a mechanical engineering capacity specific to utility plants and distribution systems, applying UEM and industry standards and complex engineering analyses to ensure safety, compliance, and reliability of mechanical systems. The selected applicant will undergo a security-sensitive background check and a certified 3-year driving record review.
