Shive-Hattery offers hands-on internships designed to build knowledge and understanding of a chosen career path. Interns are treated as full-time staff members, work on actual client projects, and receive opportunities for learning and growth. Each intern is paired with a mid-level employee mentor for informal one-on-one guidance and conversations about career goals. The Mechanical Engineer Intern will work on projects involving District Energy, Utility Distribution, and Hydronic Piping Design. The position provides exposure to the profession, collaborative teamwork, and serving client needs. Work is primarily performed in an office or hybrid environment and may involve travel to project sites, other Shive-Hattery offices, or client meetings. Applicants must have a full clean driver's license and ongoing U.S. work authorization without employer sponsorship. Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and portfolio, or include a portfolio link in the cover letter if file-size constraints prevent submission.
