About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. This internship focuses on supporting mechanical maintenance and reliability improvement projects across cement plant operations. The intern will analyze equipment performance data, collaborate with engineers and plant teams to troubleshoot mechanical systems, and assist with project planning and documentation. The role also involves participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze technical problems and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and aptitude for learning engineering and maintenance systems.
  • Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support mechanical maintenance and reliability improvement projects across cement plant operations.
  • Analyze equipment performance data and help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, uptime, and safety.
  • Collaborate with engineers and plant teams to troubleshoot mechanical systems and resolve operational challenges.
  • Assist with project planning, equipment inspections, and development of maintenance documentation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance plant performance and sustainability.
