About The Position

The Radar Mechanical Design Department leads mechanical design, development, and integration of some of the most innovative land-based and shipboard radars in the world. This includes radar systems, hardware integration, electronic modules, pedestal and power and cooling systems. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design, integration, and production support. The Radar Mechanical Design Department has an on-site, full-time Internship position starting summer 2027. The candidate will assist mechanical engineers in the design and/or development of radar system equipment. Key requirements for this position include proven problem-solving skills and interest in hardware design, engineering analysis, and mechanical drawing creation. Engineers will be expected to make sound and comprehensive decisions under the supervision and guidance of senior engineers, working on radar design, electronics packaging, and hardware integration support. This is an on-site position. Location is Tewksbury, Massachusetts.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written)
  • Experience in Microsoft Office or other presentation tools
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Responsibilities

  • Training and application of RTX tools including CREO and PDM to perform design tasks
  • Design and Documentation support utilizing engineering tools, Adobe, and MS office suite.
  • Utilize proven problem-solving skills and experience in Engineering Analysis
  • Collaborate with coworkers and various teams in the Radar Design Department to support business objectives of the organization
  • Perform Mechanical Tolerance Analysis using Geometric Dimension and Tolerance best practices
