About The Position

Novelis is a global leader in aluminum recycling and rolling, providing sustainable aluminum solutions. The Oswego plant has an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer intern to join the team for approximately 10 to 12 weeks. This internship offers the chance to engage in meaningful work and gain hands-on industry experience. The intern will report to the Associate EMRA Leader and gain experience in Mechanical Engineering.

Requirements

• Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University
• Must obtain the classification Junior or Senior.
• Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
• Familiar with MS Office and AutoCAD products.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Nice To Haves

• Prefer students majoring in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Works well in a team-based environment.
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.

Responsibilities

• Learn about industrial machinery, mechanical power transmission, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Provide support for various Mechanical or Reliability Engineering Projects.
• Develop and modify engineering drawings and models using CAD software.
• Participate in problem solving activities including breakdown repairs and root cause analysis.
• Work under the supervision of staff engineers to implement latest reliability and maintenance standards to equipment.
