About The Position

AECOM's Mechanical Engineering group is seeking a dynamic, talented Mechanical Engineer for immediate employment to be based out of our Philadelphia, PA location. Projects include transportation and aviation projects, including bus and transit facilities, airports, and related buildings. The role involves designing mechanical and/or plumbing systems from concept through construction across multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring quality, compliance, and innovation. The engineer will collaborate with architects, engineers, vendors, and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget, perform HVAC and/or plumbing calculations, and prepare high-quality drawings (AutoCAD and Revit), construction documents, specifications, and reports. Responsibilities also include providing input to engineering budget and schedule development, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, performing quality control reviews, participating in interdisciplinary reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and conducting site visits.

Requirements

  • BA/BS +4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within one year.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience with Building HVAC and/or Plumbing design.

Nice To Haves

  • 6+ years of related HVAC and/or Plumbing engineering experience.
  • AutoCAD and Revit professional experience.
  • Experience as a lead engineer on project design.

Responsibilities

  • Design the mechanical and/or plumbing systems from concept through construction across multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring quality, compliance, and innovation.
  • Collaborates with architects, engineers, vendors and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Performs HVAC and/or plumbing calculations.
  • Prepares and deliver high-quality drawings (AutoCAD and Revit), construction documents, specifications and reports.
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards and client requirements.
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations and drawings.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
  • Conducts site visits to document and evaluate mechanical and/or plumbing systems.
