About The Position

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to lead the design, development, and validation of HVAC systems and components, including evaporator coils and air handlers. This role is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for driving technical solutions, supporting product strategy, and collaborating across engineering, product management, manufacturing, and test teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5–8+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and airflow systems
  • Experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead design and development efforts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC system design experience (coils, air handlers, or similar equipment)
  • Familiarity with AHRI, DOE, or other regulatory standards
  • Experience working in cross-functional product development environments
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, assembly, heat exchangers)

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development of mechanical systems and components from concept through production
  • Own subsystem or product-level engineering execution, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications
  • Drive design decisions balancing performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability
  • Define and support system testing and validation activities in collaboration with lab teams
  • Analyze test data and lead design iterations to meet performance and regulatory requirements
  • Support new product introductions (NPI), product updates, and platform standardization efforts
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution of field, warranty, and production issues
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (product management, manufacturing, sourcing, lab/test, and sales)
  • Mentor junior engineers and review technical work for quality and accuracy
