About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer focuses on designing and engineering HVAC and mechanical utilities for new buildings, renovations, additions, and processes. The position oversees the mechanical discipline scope and manages the discipline budget on small to medium projects of intermediate complexity. The engineer coordinates with internal and external architects and engineers, clients, construction managers, subcontractors, vendors, and manufacturers, and may work independently or under the direction of a Lead Engineer, Project Manager, or Supervisor. Typical work includes load calculations, utility assessments, energy modeling, design reports, code evaluations, plans, P&IDs, schedules, installation details, and equipment and system selection and specifications. The role uses building information modeling, computer-aided drafting, and engineering calculation software, and directs design activities across studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. On small to medium projects when serving as the Lead Mechanical Engineering Role, the engineer may act as Engineer-of-Record. CRB is a privately held provider of engineering, architecture, construction, and consulting solutions for the global life sciences and food and beverage industries.
