About The Position

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer/Drafter (Engineer II) to support our Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) Engineering Team. The ideal candidate will have experience creating detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, and specifications for propulsion-related hardware such as motor cases, nozzles, insulation, joints, and structural interfaces. This role supports design integration, configuration control, and the release of accurate, manufacturable mechanical designs. Strong 3D CAD and drafting skills are required, along with the ability to collaborate closely with engineers across disciplines. This position may be remote or based in Huntsville, AL, Niceville FL, or Hampton, AR.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 2-4 years' experience
  • Engineering degree required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong 3D CAD and drafting skills

Responsibilities

  • Applies engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Confers with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Researches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Specifies system components or directs modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
