About The Position
Monogram, a Zimmer Biomet Company, is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for our team in Austin, Texas. Monogram's surgeon-guided semi- and fully autonomous robotic technologies are expected to add new and differentiated capabilities to Zimmer Biomet's already broad suite of customer-centric technology solutions. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of 3D modeling software
- Experience in EMC and Safety Testing for IEC60601 certification
- Experience with Solidworks
- Direct experience working in the Medical Device industry
Nice To Haves
- Experience developing power tools
- Experience in engineering simulations such as FEA and CFD
- Experience leading or participating in risk analysis evaluation and dFMEA
- Familiarity with risk management tools and techniques
- Proficiency in stackup tolerance analysis techniques for mechanical assemblies
- Experience developing medical devices and familiar with V&V testing and 510K submission activities
- Past experience with thermal treatment of stainless steel and welding experience
Responsibilities
- Develop and specify product functional requirements and testing strategies according to user needs, internal and external standards and regulatory requirements
- Design, test and integrate components and sub-assemblies to produce the overall final product design
- Identify root causes of issues, determine potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirements
- Work closely and collaboratively with other members of the development team, collaborate with contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists
- Achieve relevant performance, time-to-market objectives, and product and project cost targets, all while achieving product quality goals
- Develop hardware according to system and subsystems requirements, create CAD 3D models and detailed engineering drawings meeting company drafting standards
