About The Position

Westinghouse is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join their innovative team focused on clean energy solutions. This role involves developing 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials for complex electro-mechanical first-of-a-kind tooling. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring employees to work onsite at one of the Ontario offices (Kitchener, Burlington, Peterborough) two days per week. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering from Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of conceptual design development, with design reviews and engineering change control processes

Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings and bills of materials for complex electro-mechanical first of a kind tooling
  • Assembly and testing of custom equipment through the design evolution from prototype to finished product
  • Help develop test procedures for systems to ensure compliance with design specifications
  • Help operate the final tooling system in the customer facilities
  • Provide technical oversight and mentoring of more junior members of the Engineering team
  • Perform both classical hand calculations and analysis (including FEA) to qualify systems and components against applicable codes and standards
