  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • 5+ years of mechanical design for electronics or industrial products.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD, simulation, mechanical assemblies, 2D drawings, and GD&T.
  • Design for injection-molded plastics, sheet metal, die casting, extrusions, tooling, material selection, assembly efficiency, cost, quality, and scalability.
  • Electronic enclosures, mounting systems, thermal management (heat sinks, airflow, heating elements, simulation), and environmental protection (IP-rated sealing, gasketing, weatherproofing).
  • Experience driving mechanical designs through the full lifecycle, from concept to production.
  • Hands-on prototyping, mechanical assembly, physical testing, and failure analysis.
  • Strong ownership, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Owning product development projects from concept to release.

  • Manufacturing release support and driving manufacturability improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of current Wavetronix products and assigned projects.
  • Demonstrate core technical proficiencies by working closely with existing team members on active tasks.
  • Adopt the standard engineering tools, workflows, and documentation processes used by the team.
  • Become a major team contributor to the development of mechanical designs.
  • Drive portions of product development projects from concept through release.
  • Exercise sound engineering judgment to evaluate technical tradeoffs, analyze alternative solutions, and solve complex hardware problems.
  • Demonstrate skill at working with team members and collaborating with other teams that are working on related projects.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Wavetronix products.
  • Propose and implement mechanical design improvements that enhance product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and quality.
  • Provide technical reviews and informal mentorship to less experienced team members.
  • Align mechanical design efforts with the long-term vision for future Wavetronix product development.
