About The Position

The Precision Control Actuation System department is seeking a mechanical design engineer to join the Harness and Interconnect organization to support the development, build, and verification of harnessing systems. The PCAS organization staffs engineers for a variety of roles supporting primarily tactical missile Integrated Product Teams. This is an onsite role, located in Tucson, AZ.

Requirements

  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of engineering design experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • DoD Clearance: Secret
  • Security Clearance Status: Active and existing security clearance required on day 1.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with development of harnessing requirements, system architecture, requirements risk, requirements verification and validation, system performance & function, safety and environmental compliance
  • Experience working with a wide variety of industry / military standards and specifications
  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5
  • Experience with any Harness and Interconnect systems
  • Experience with Pro/Engineer/CREO 3D modeling and mechanical drawing generation
  • Proven design and manufacturing knowledge in machined parts, injection molded parts, wire harnesses/flex harnesses and related components

Responsibilities

  • Support may include but is not limited to detailed mechanical design, test design and execution, systems engineering, proposals and estimates, or earned value management.
  • Flex responsibilities based on the current needs of the organization and their respective skill sets.
  • Engage in engineering builds, hardware integration, and hardware verification.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts for accelerated technical growth.
