About The Position

The Precision Control Actuation System department is seeking a mechanical design engineer to join the Harness and Interconnect organization to support the development, build, and verification of harnessing systems. The PCAS organization staffs engineers for a variety of roles supporting primarily tactical missile Integrated Product Teams. This is an onsite role, located in Tucson, AZ. At this grade level, you will be expected to work autonomously with regular and periodic oversight, have knowledge of the harness and interconnect domain, and coach and review the work of other professionals. Support may include but is not limited to detailed mechanical design, test design and execution, systems engineering, proposals and estimates, or earned value management. You will be expected to flex responsibilities based on the current needs of the organization and their respective skill sets.

Requirements

  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of engineering design experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with development of harnessing requirements, system architecture, requirements risk, requirements verification and validation, system performance & function, safety and environmental compliance
  • Experience working with a wide variety of industry / military standards and specifications
  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5
  • Experience with any Harness and Interconnect systems
  • Experience with Pro/Engineer/CREO 3D modeling and mechanical drawing generation
  • Proven design and manufacturing knowledge in machined parts, injection molded parts, wire harnesses/flex harnesses and related components
