The Mechanical Design Engineering team is looking for a developing mechanical engineer to join our Fire & Overheat Linear Detection group in Wilson, North Carolina! You will participate in the development, modification, integration, qualification, certification, production and field support of aircraft fire and overheat detection systems and components for military and commercial applications. Our devices include pneumatic, eutectic and thermistor linear overheat and fire detectors. You will work with existing and new application designs and product improvement, defining design drawings, testing, evaluation and data packages. Work may also include R&D for new technologies including fiber optics to maintain the company’s position as a leader in the industry. Your ability to work in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary teams with effective communication and attention to detail for timely project execution is imperative. Familiarity with machined part drawings and specification, weld specifications, mechanical assemblies, switches, eutectic salts and/or thermistors is preferred. Join us in the continuous improvement of current products and creating the next generation of aircraft fire and overheat detectors. This is an onsite position based in Wilson, North Carolina.
