About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer I is responsible for the structural design and reliability of refrigerated systems. The role coordinates projects from concept through cross-functional approval and implementation of changes in production, working with drafters, designers, engineering technicians, and machine shop personnel. The engineer designs and redesigns products to develop new products, improve performance, reduce costs, and meet regulatory requirements, while supporting manufacturability, assembly, and reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• At least 1 year of experience.
• Understanding of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
• Ability to work well with people both within and outside the department.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Sense of ownership and urgency with projects and work assignments.
• Good working knowledge of S-Excel, 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, SolidEdge, or Pro-E, AutoCAD, MS-PowerPoint, and MS-Word.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles used to produce precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Nice To Haves

• MS-Access knowledge.
• AI knowledge.
• Basic working knowledge of the SAP environment.
• Design management experience reviewing models, drawings, and Bills of Material.
• Experience working with sheet metal parts and plastics.
• Understanding of basic refrigeration.
• Experience automating processes in Excel or using a programming language.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate projects from concept through cross-functional approval and implementation of changes from concept to production.
• Coordinate the efforts of drafters, designers, engineering technicians, and machine shop personnel as required by assigned projects.
• Design and redesign products to develop new products, improve performance, and reduce cost while meeting regulatory requirements, including UL and ASHRAE.
• Design products for manufacturability, assembly, and reliability.
• Modify existing designs to improve cost positions.
