About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineer at Collins Aerospace Mission Systems Integrated Strategic Solutions (ISSE), you will participate in the design, development, and test of electronic equipment and integration kits for communication systems on military aircraft and transportable platforms. The selected candidate will learn to work closely with Systems, Electrical, and Manufacturing staff to ensure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product’s lifecycle. Participate in design and development activities, including implementation of specifications and development of performance or maintenance requirements. Learn engineering design processes to contribute to designs for components, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies. Participate in the execution of tests for systems, subsystems, and components. Participate in the analysis of test results in relation to design and test objectives. May evaluate and analyze various mechanical products to determine their cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Evaluate installations and recommend design modifications. Communicate effectively in a cross-functional team. Some travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SolidWorks
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Word)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and make sound, well-informed decisions.
  • Possession of an active U.S. Government issued Top Secret clearance
