About The Position

Oxford Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support HVAC and building systems projects for an engineering consulting client. This is a direct-hire, onsite opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong background in mechanical building design. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of experience designing HVAC systems for commercial, institutional, or similar facilities. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred; candidates with an EIT and relevant experience will also be considered.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5–10 years of mechanical/HVAC engineering experience
• PE license highly preferred; EIT candidates will be considered
• Strong knowledge of HVAC system design and equipment selection
• Experience with heating and cooling load calculations
• Knowledge of applicable building codes and standards, including IMC and NFPA

Nice To Haves

• Engineering consulting or building systems design experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC and mechanical building systems
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations using Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, or similar software
• Size and select mechanical equipment including chillers, boilers, air handling units, fans, pumps, piping, and ductwork
• Prepare mechanical calculations, specifications, drawings, and design documentation
• Coordinate designs with other engineering disciplines and project teams
• Support projects from design development through construction
• Apply applicable mechanical and life-safety codes and standards
