About The Position

As part of the Buildings team for Garver, this Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing mechanical designs in support of various Buildings projects. Specifically, this responsibility will include a variety of projects related to planning, design, and commissioning of: Building HVAC system(s), Building plumbing system(s), Building fire protection system(s), Building whole building energy modeling, and Building sustainability requirements reporting. In addition, this role will include coordination with other support disciplines, and coordination with regional offices. Assisting project managers in management of projects. Following quality assurance and quality control plans. Periodic travel to project sites will be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus from an ABET accredited university or college.
• Minimum of 3 years of building design and construction industry experience.
• Knowledge base of mechanical engineering principals related to building mechanical designs.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD.
• Experience with Carrier HAP or similar HVAC load analysis program.
• Experience with AIA MasterSpec.
