About The Position

Element has an opportunity for a Mechanical / Electrical Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures. Element Minneapolis' capabilities include military and aerospace EMI testing, shock and vibration, wind and rain simulation, blowing sand and dust, centrifuge testing, and specialized hydraulic systems testing, the Bloomington laboratory is recognized for its technical expertise, responsive customer service, and commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality results.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a testing related field
  • Analyzes and compiles testing data from the tests performed
  • Basic understanding of testing concepts
  • Possess computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • HS diploma or GED certificate preferred. College or vocational school coursework welcomed
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform Environmental and Mechanical testing following standard or customer procedures
  • Possess an ability to construct and maintain test fixtures and other laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order based on client needs.
  • Install and utilize various sensors (primarily pressure, temperature, and flow sensors).
  • Produce high quality test results that conform to recognized standards or customer requirements
  • Oversee multiple projects and be responsible for day-to-day activities, including updating client and coordinating and reporting activities with supervisor and other team members.
  • Install and utilize various sensors (pressure, temperature, electrical, and flow sensors)
  • Maintain datasheets, traveler documents, maintenance logs, and other essential paperwork
  • Possess independent thought and problem solving abilities, including mechanical creativity and resourcefulness
  • Summarize and report test data in a clear and concise manner
  • Keep safety and quality a top priority and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Maintain records and files of work and revisions
  • Perform other related duties as required
