About The Position

The Electrical Test Technician is responsible for performing detailed testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of electrical components and systems to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. This role involves setting up test equipment, analyzing test results, and documenting findings accurately. The technician collaborates with engineering and production teams to identify issues, recommend improvements, and maintain efficient testing procedures. A strong understanding of electrical systems, measurement tools, and safety protocols is essential to ensure reliable and safe operations.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree, trade certification, or BSEE, along with over 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to utilize digital multimeters to assess and troubleshoot circuits.
  • Basic knowledge of AC and DC circuits.
  • Skilled in understanding and interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Experience in soldering wiring across various electrical circuits.
  • Foundational understanding of computers and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective team player with strong communication skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, capable of independently taking the initiative to complete tasks without supervision.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools to work on electrical circuits.
  • Familiarity with electrical measuring equipment such as: multimeters, oscilloscopes and power supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the production team to support daily production goals.
  • Perform electrical testing and troubleshooting on 480VAC electrical distribution cabinets.
  • Develop test plans for new product launches.
  • Assist in product rework and root cause analysis of RMAs.
  • Repair electrical circuits and product assemblies.
  • Build, test, and evaluate electrical distribution products during the production process.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications and production standards.
  • Use standard and custom electrical testing equipment and procedures.
  • Regular adherence to performance of applicable procedures in the Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management (EMS), and Occupational Health & Safety standards (OSHAS); ensuring processes remain sustainable, suitable, and effective in relation to position.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement necessary changes to QMS.
  • Utilize digital multimeters to assess circuits and troubleshoot issues.
  • Conduct Hi-Potential testing of distribution cabinets.
  • Test current transformers with ratiometers to verify specifications.
  • Collaborate as a team to ensure electrical safety requirements are met and standards are maintained.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, to facilitate power up of distribution cabinets.
