You’ll gain hands-on experience across all phases of a project—from concept through to construction—while building a strong technical foundation in HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Registered or working toward registration as an EIT
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD (REVIT experience is an asset)
  • Understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, etc.) is an asset
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication—both written and verbal
  • A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Bilingual (English and French) communication skills are considered an asset.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Québec Professional Engineer (ing.)license

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection
  • Develop drawings using AutoCAD and support REVIT-based projects (where applicable)
  • Perform calculations (e.g., heat gain/loss, energy modelling) and support system sizing and selection
  • Prepare schematics, riser diagrams, equipment schedules, and engineering reports
  • Coordinate designs with architectural, electrical, and structural teams
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (OBC, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.)
  • Support the preparation of specifications and contract documentation
  • Attend client meetings and internal coordination meetings
  • Participate in site reviews and construction meetings
  • Review shop drawings and assist with responding to RFIs, CCNs, and SIs
  • Conduct site audits and verify existing conditions
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, high-performing environment
  • Take initiative in your professional development and pursue your P.Eng. designation
  • Manage your time effectively across multiple projects and deadlines
  • Contribute ideas and support continuous improvement within the team
