About The Position

This is a direct-hire design seat with an industry-leading green-tech manufacturer that has a 40-year history of zero layoffs and record-breaking market demand. They engineer custom, sustainable systems that significantly cut fossil fuel usage and pollution across industrial markets worldwide. Bridging the gap between engineering theory and shop floor execution, you will take full ownership of custom submittal packages and detailed BOMs while working directly alongside the skilled fabricators building your designs.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card) required.
  • 3+ years of professional 2D AutoCAD mechanical design experience within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Clear understanding of how 2D assembly prints and schematics translate into raw fabrication and physical assembly.
  • Professional written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with plant supervisors, project leads, and external clients.
  • Residing within a comfortable 45-minute daily driving radius of Richfield, WI.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Drafting, Engineering Technology, Industrial Design, or a related discipline strongly preferred.
  • Background working with industrial piping, fluid handling, heat transfer, or HVAC equipment builds.
  • Practical experience working with industrial ERP systems for inventory and BOM management.
  • Experience building or using LISP routines or custom AutoCAD blocks and commands to streamline drafting workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed 2D mechanical submittal drawings for complex industrial fluid-handling and heat-transfer systems using AutoCAD.
  • Build comprehensive Bills of Materials and sales order job packets to guide shop floor assembly from design approval through final production.
  • Walk the manufacturing grid to view assigned projects in active build, collaborating directly with fabricators and updating post-shipment "as-built" drawings.
  • Act as a technical point of contact during the submittal process, addressing client engineering inquiries to secure fast "approved for production" sign-offs.
  • Utilize custom internal AutoCAD commands and standards to maintain consistent design quality and support peers on drafting questions.
