Wagstaff manufactures equipment for aluminum producers, who process formed aluminum into parts and products you use every day. This role applies mechanical design knowledge to the design development and production of Wagstaff casting equipment. The Mechanical Designer will become familiar with Wagstaff equipment, associated design criteria, design tools, and business software with respect to a limited number of products/areas of standard complexity. They will create design documents necessary for equipment production, update and revise mechanical drawings, and prepare and release design documents to Manufacturing. Proficiency will be developed in estimating hours for design tasks, meeting goals with respect to planned hours and production schedules, and interfacing with Purchasing, Demand Management, and shop floor personnel. The role also involves keeping the work area clean, abiding by company policies, and potentially working in excess of 40 hours per week to achieve business objectives. Additionally, the designer may train other team members in basic departmental processes and equipment design methods, and perform other duties as assigned.
