About The Position
We are seeking Intermediate Mechanical Designers to join our dynamic Automation team. The Mechanical Designer will work directly with Mechanical Design Lead and Design teams to ensure projects are met on budget. The incumbent will work with the management and department personnel to deliver the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects and contribute to the advancement of innovative manufacturing solutions. Requirements
- An educational background in Engineering, Robotics or a related discipline
- Experience in mechanical design utilizing SolidWorks (or equivalent)
- 7+ years of design experience within an automation environment
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, N299 and NQA-1 is an asset
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering calculations for materials strength, speeds, and force related to designs
- Develop equipment drawings and bills of materials using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Analyze designs for compliance with standards like OSHA and CE
- Reverse engineer components using precision measurement tools
- Review drawings for accuracy, material selection, machining techniques, finishes, etc
- Communicate design changes and task progress with team leads and management
- Collaborate with fabricators, machinists, toolmakers and electricians in the completion of equipment and solving problems
