Reporting to the Lab Operation manager, you'll assist engineers and technicians to design and build mechanical systems. Your tasks will include gathering requirements, understand constraints, and collaborate to the design of manufacturing jigs and apparatus. You'll need to interpret technical drawings, work effectively in a team, and use computer software to elaborate you design and do record-keeping.

Requirements

Any hands-on experience in the field of mechanics, whether through previous internships, school projects, or personal work, can be a major asset.
A strong understanding of mechanical principles and techniques, including knowledge of mechanical systems, tools and equipment, materials, and manufacturing processes is essential.
The ability to identify and solve problems is a key skill in mechanics. This involves diagnosing problems, finding effective solutions, and implementing them.
You'll need to work in a team in most situations. The ability to effectively collaborate with others, communicate clearly, and contribute to a positive work environment is crucial.
Mechanics is a field that requires a high attention to detail, from reading blueprints to carrying out quality checks.
Proficiency in relevant computer applications, from using diagnostic software to designing parts with CAD programs, will be a valuable asset.
