About The Position

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer for our Growing Team here at Introba for our St. Louis, MO location. The Mechanical Designer will support the engineering team in the design and documentation of HVAC and mechanical systems. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who has mastered the basics of Revit and is looking to grow their technical engineering knowledge within a collaborative MEP environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, related technical field, or commensurate experience.
  • 1–5 years of professional experience within an MEP consulting firm or the construction industry.
  • Strong foundational skills in Autodesk Revit and Blue Beam (required); experience with Navisworks and AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of core mechanical engineering concepts (fluid flow, heat transfer, etc.)
  • Proven ability to produce accurate, work with a high level of attention to detail and Revit modeling accuracy.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical items with internal team members and follow guidance from lead engineers.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to manage tasks across multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • EIT (Engineer-In-Training) certification is preferred, or a clear intent to pursue P.E. licensure in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Generate high-quality construction documents, including floor plans, schematic diagrams, and schedules using Revit.
  • Assist senior engineers in the layout of ductwork and piping systems, ensuring adherence to project-specific design standards.
  • Perform fundamental building load calculations for review by a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Participate in "clash detection" and coordination meetings to ensure mechanical systems do not interfere with other building components.
  • Prepare equipment schedules and assist in the preliminary selection of mechanical components like fans, pumps, and terminal units.
  • Attend site visits to assist in documenting existing conditions and performing basic "punch list" walkthroughs during construction.
  • Maintain and apply company BIM standards and drafting templates to ensure consistency across all project deliverables.
  • Actively participate in internal training and stay current on evolving building codes and sustainable design practices (e.g., LEED or WELL).
  • Generate first draft project specifications for review by the Processional Engineer of Record (PE).
