About The Position

EXP is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer/Engineer for Mission Critical and Data Center building projects. This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure from talented and experienced engineering staff in the Dallas, TX office. The position involves preparing calculations, selecting and scheduling equipment, coordinating with other disciplines, and understanding scope of design documents. The ideal candidate will manage work plans, deliverables, and budgeted hours on multiple projects, while also writing studies and reports for systems. A thorough understanding of psychometrics and application to projects, as well as air side and hydronic systems, is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • 1+ years of experience
  • Must have strong leadership skills and good communication capabilities.
  • Building design experience is a must

Nice To Haves

  • EIT preferred working towards PE
  • Preferred experience includes: data center, mission critical and/or telecom industry.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Prepare calculations for loads.
  • Select and schedule equipment.
  • Coordinates with other disciplines (MEP/FP, Arch, Struct, etc.).
  • Understand proper scope of SD, DD, CD level documents – and deliver appropriate documentation.
  • Work with PC, PM, to meet scheduled project milestones of multiple projects.
  • Perform at a ‘responsible charge’ level of meeting exp’s design and quality levels.
  • Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.
  • Write studies and reports for systems on projects.
  • Understands and apply concepts of CHW, HW, WSHP, variable & constant flow systems.
  • Air side systems – CV, VAV, coil selection, fan selection.
  • Hydronic Systems – hot, chilled water systems and condenser water systems
  • Thorough understanding psychometrics and being able to apply to every project.
