About The Position

The Mechanical Design Manager works closely with project managers, design teams, and design-builders from project initiation through project completion. The role also interfaces with the Maintenance Operation Team to evaluate specified equipment and influence future designs and specifications to reduce future costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 7+ years of experience in a Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) construction, engineering, or design capacity.
• Demonstrated experience in the design and construction of laboratory facilities.

• Adaptability and agility, including the ability to pivot quickly and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to provide high-level technical guidance and strategic recommendations on electrical systems and infrastructure.
• Experience with PLC and DDC building management systems, including leading design discussions and reviewing sequences of operations.
• Experience overseeing commissioning agents, including reviewing and approving commissioning plans and reports.
• A strategic mindset and commitment to decisions that uphold the organization's long-term interests, facility standards, and operational excellence.
