The Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the creation of innovative products and systems that power the physical infrastructure of modern data centers. From bold concept development to successful product launch, this role drives the full product lifecycle, fueling cross-functional collaboration and transforming cutting-edge research into real-world solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required.
  • 1.5 - 5 years in mechanical product design with proven success launching projects from concept to completion.
  • Expertise in plastic part design, metal part design, hands-on experience with sheet metal, and broad knowledge of manufacturing processes (specifically injection molding and stamping).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong analytical, innovative, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Expertise in 3D CAD (Siemens NX or similar).
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in electronic packaging, fiber optics, datacenter, power, and cooling, or liquid cooling preferred.
  • Prior participation with standards body a plus.
  • Ability to analyze heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid flow to optimize thermal performance using simulation tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop products and systems focused on connectivity, power distribution, and cooling solutions for data center.
  • Execute the full design lifecycle: requirements capture, concept generation, design, prototyping, testing, and release to manufacturing.
  • Conduct applied research and stay current with the latest technology.
  • Plan and lead large-scale projects, including multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Prepare project schedules, budgets, design specifications, technical reports, and presentations.
  • Demonstrate creativity and out-of-the-box thinking for concepts and designs.
