About The Position

The Engineering Design group is seeking a Measurement Engineer to support interstate natural gas pipeline projects. This individual will be a technical resource within the Engineering Design group and must possess the ability to collaborate with a wide variety of people in various departments with tact, courtesy and professionalism. This individual will also represent the Company with customers, suppliers, licensees, third party engineering firms, outside consultants, and industry associations.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering required
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (49CFR Part 192, ASME B31.8, AGA, API, GPA, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret process flow diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical piping drawings, and equipment fabrication drawings
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam
  • Must be able to perform job functions with minimal guidance or supervision and to accomplish goals in a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess well-developed analytical and problem solving skills to address complex technical matters
  • Must be able and willing to take direction from managers and senior leaders
  • Must maintain regular and dependable attendance
  • Must be a United States citizen
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 5 years of gas industry experience preferred
  • Should possess a working knowledge of the selection, sizing, and operation of orifice meters, turbine meters, ultrasonic meters, positive displacement meters and Coriolis meters and their associate equipment

Responsibilities

  • Selection and sizing of meters, control valves, relief valves, and piping components.
  • Selection of gas sampling equipment, odorization equipment, gas heaters, filter separators.
  • Familiarity with pressure drop calculations and understanding the design and implementation of overpressure protection.
  • Communicating technical information using well-developed written and verbal skills.
  • Supporting Operations personnel with troubleshooting issues at measurement and regulation facilities.
  • Creating schematics and bills of material in support of projects.
  • Evaluating the design, installation, and operation of gas measurement facilities to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards and recommending changes to optimize efficient, safe, and economical operation while maintaining code compliance.
  • Creating and maintaining technical specifications, engineering standards, construction standards, and O&M standards to ensure code compliance and safety, and to increase efficiency.
  • Preparing and coordinating engineering reports, calculations, studies, and presentations.
  • Planning, scheduling, and coordinating detailed phases of engineering work.
  • Performing job functions with minimal guidance or supervision and accomplishing goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Completing quality tasks on schedule and within budget while complying with applicable codes and standards.
  • Taking direction from managers and senior leaders.
  • Maintaining regular and dependable attendance.
