Mechanical Engineering

Analog Devices•Elizabeth, MA

About The Position

Analog Devices’ Aerospace and Defense Module Product Line is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop new technology and design integrated modules and subsystems for phased array radar systems. The engineer will work collaboratively with electrical designers, process engineers, program managers, production assembly teams, suppliers, and colleagues across ADI design centers throughout the program lifecycle, from research through design and production. The role involves mechanical design of electronic hardware incorporating RF modules, control electronics, power systems, cabling, and cooling; use of 3D CAD; systems engineering and requirements analysis; cooling-solution development; thermal and structural analysis; design of packaging for SMT and MCM assemblies; and preparation of design and fabrication documentation. The engineer will contribute to customer and internal design reviews, support manufacturing and product testing, assist with proposals and cost and schedule estimates, and develop materials, components, and processes to advance design capabilities. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, strong organizational, planning, technical, and communication abilities, a desire to grow into additional engineering responsibilities, and the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. A master’s degree and experience with the specified CAD and simulation tools are preferred. Travel is required approximately 10% of the time.
