Mechanical Design Engineer

Graham Manufacturing•Batavia, NY

About The Position

The Mechanical Design Engineer completes custom design and initial drafting of Graham equipment and systems. Using CAD software, in-house analysis tools, and industry-specific design software, the engineer develops mechanical designs, models, assemblies, and drawings, ensuring equipment meets structural and performance requirements. The role requires thorough review of project specifications, customer requirements, and other project materials to meet customer performance requirements and Graham’s safety and quality requirements. Designs must also account for applicable national and international codes, material properties, manufacturing processes, supply chain constraints, tooling, and production costs. The Level II role coordinates production-related problem solving and prevention and supports resource management. The engineer completes design activities and deliverables within project schedules, maintains accurate technical documentation, communicates project status and issues, and collaborates with internal teams. The position also contributes to continuous improvement, design reviews, engineering calculations, and professional development.
