About The Position

This role is for a Mechanical Design Engineer focused on drill bits, playing a critical role in designing drill bits and supporting operations across regions. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product performance, improve manufacturing processes, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions aligned with customer needs. The position involves creating drill bit designs and manufacturing packages using 3D modeling and data management systems, supporting NAL Central & NE Operations with design expertise, and interfacing with various teams including Product Line Management, Operations, Manufacturing, and Technology to improve product performance and efficiency. The role also requires engaging directly with customers to understand technical needs, gather feedback, and ensure satisfaction, as well as documenting and sharing lessons learned and supporting manufacturing teams with troubleshooting and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Experience working with 3D CAD systems
  • Experience with simulation tools such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Capable of selecting appropriate engineering techniques, performing analysis, and making sound design recommendations
  • Knowledge of mechanical component design and applied engineering principles
  • Ability to drive adherence to product design standards and support continuous updates
  • Capable of leading engineering projects with limited supervision

  • Creating drill bit designs and manufacturing packages using 3D modeling and data management systems
