About The Position

Hydrasearch is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Stevensville, MD. In this role, you will support and improve engineered fluid-transfer components and mechanical hardware used in demanding commercial, aerospace and defense applications. This is a hands-on engineering role that spans the product lifecycle—from requirements and mechanical design through prototyping, manufacturing, assembly and continuous improvement. You will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and suppliers to develop practical, manufacturable solutions and help resolve production challenges. This role provides the opportunity to work directly with physical products throughout the design and manufacturing process. Industry-specific experience is helpful but not required. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
2-5 years of engineering experience; strong entry-level candidates with relevant internships, co-op experience or hands-on engineering projects will also be considered.
Ability to work directly with manufacturing personnel, suppliers and cross-functional teams.
Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation; strong fundamentals in mechanical design, statics, tolerances and manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities

Design and improve mechanical components and assemblies
Create 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
Apply mechanical design and GD&T principles
Support prototyping and testing
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop manufacturable products from concept through production
Maintain product and manufacturing documentation
Support production and assembly processes
Troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues
Establish inspection requirements
Collaborate with production teams to resolve operational challenges
Partner with suppliers and internal teams to communicate technical requirements
Support engineering decisions
Resolve product, manufacturing, and production-related issues
Support product and process improvements
Manage engineering changes and revision control
Maintain accurate documentation
Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of products
